Here’s a great interview I keep at hand from Writer’sDigest.com with the famed writer, Janet Evanovich, of the Stephanie Plum series. She speaks volumes of the hard work it took and the brand that she built around herself. Read for yourself and see if you’ve got the moxie as Janet Evanovich has to make it as a successful writer.
“Don’t think. Thinking is the enemy of creativity. It’s self-conscious, and anything self-conscious is lousy. You can’t try to do things. You simply must do things.”
Something to also keep things in wonderful perspective about yourself and life! Enjoy!
“It is for us to pray not for tasks equal to our powers, but for powers equal to our tasks, to go forward with a great desire forever beating at the door of our hearts as we travel toward our distant goal.” Helen Keller
I find I need to read quotes like this one to remind me to get out of my writer’s funk and just begin. It forces me to find a way to make it work while keeping an eye on my toddler. He’s a little boy and a handful like his father.
It’s Monday and I’ve got a whole week to write, research, and read. If only it were that easy. But I will find a way. I have no excuses to get SOMETHING done. That’s why I declare today to be a motivational day. Hope these quotes keep you inspired and going for the rest of the week!
